“After setting himself as a brilliant  chamber musician performing in venues all around the world  with Andrea Bocelli,  Gianfranco  Cecchele,  Kristian   Johansson,  Daniela  Barcellona, Carlo  Lepore,  Giacomo Prestia,  Gianluca Terranova,   Giovanni Velluti started with growing success a solo career.”

(La Stampa– agosto 2002).

Particularly important is the  close association enjoyed with Katia Ricciarelli, whom he has partnered since 1993 in many tours and television broadcastings throughout Europe, America, Africa and the Middle East. Other leading singers with whom he has worked regularly are Stefania Bonfadelli , Daniela Dessì, Paolo Bordogna,  Manuela Custer, Rossana Rinaldi,  Antonio Salvadori

Giovanni began studying piano with Aldo Mantia, pupil of Wladimir von Pachmann, heir of the Chopin school.

Velluti was decisively influenced by his encounter with the teacher Rodolpho Caporali, a direct pianistic descendant of Chopin and Thalberg.

He is now assistant of W. Grant Naborè, founder of Como Lake Piano Academy.

He later enjoyed suggestions and help also from Sergio Fiorentino and Aldo Ciccolini though being already in career.

Velluti has performed in the most important Italian concert halls (including Teatro Comunale of Bologna, Teatro Argentina of  Rome, Teatro Comunale of Ferrara, Turin RAI Auditorium, Rome Parco della musica, Teatro Filarmonico di Verona, London’s Steinway Hall, Conway Hall and St. Martin-in-the-fields, etc) , abroad in more than 30 foreign  countries  ( Great Britain, Germany, France, Bulgaria,  Hungary, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, South America, Africa, Middle and Far East) and in many international festivals including the Varna Summer Festival, Festival di Pasqua of Locarno, Ochrid festival, Festival Magna Grecia of Taranto, Temporada de musica de Andorra, and  Alto Adige Musicastello Festival).

His concerts were often broadcasted by major Italian and foreign tv channels and  he took part in many  radio programs (Rai 3, Euroradio- concerti al Palazzo del Quirinale,  Radio Vaticana).

A  CD recorded  on a perfectly restored 1890 Erard piano is being sold on “I-tunes” as “The piano of the golden  age”,and a CD recorded with bass Carlo Lepore and with critical notes by Philip Gossett was also released with the title “Non solo buffo”.

Giovanni teaches piano accompaniment and lyrical repertoire in  Rome S.Cecilia Conservatoire.
